What is the Tailhook Educational Foundation? The Foundation is a charitable nonprofit California corporation created in February 1992. The Foundation's charter is "...to educate the nation's public with regard to the history and present day activities of the United States Navy carrier aviation and its importance to our country's national security." The purposes of the Tailhook Educational Foundation are to educate the public with regard to the history and present day activities of United States Navy carrier aviation; to provide undergraduate educational scholarships to persons, or children ofpersons, who serve or formerly served the United States Navy as Naval Aviators, Naval Flight Officers, or Naval Aircrewmen, or as carrier aviation air wing or ship’s company personnel; and to distribute educational materials pertaining to aviation in general and naval aviation in particular. Tailhook Educational Foundation Special Operation Warrior Foundation The Special OperationsWarrior Foundation provides full scholarship grants and educational and family counseling to the surviving children of special operations personnel who die in operational or training missions and immediate financial assistance to severely wounded special operations personnel and their families.
